What is IPL? How does the INIA MOOD Pro work?

IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light, which is a popular technology used for hair removal and various skin treatments. It works similarly to laser hair removal, only it’s way easier and safe to do at home.

INIA MOOD Pro work by emitting wavelengths that target pigment in the hair. As the light is absorbed, it turns to heat, which then kills hair growth cells. Hair grows back slower and sparser, reducing hair growth permanently overtime.

*IPL hair removal is generally considered safe and can be used on various body areas, including the face, legs, underarms, and bikini line. However, it is essential to consult with a trained professional or dermatologist to determine if IPL is suitable for your skin type and to ensure proper treatment settings are used.

Is INIA IPL hair removal safe? Can it cause cancer?

IPL is a popular, well-researched option for safe and effective long-term hair removal. Both INIA MOOD & MOOD Pro are FDA-cleared for safe at-home use. They are also certified by FCC, CE, & RoHS.

Our hair removal does not cause cancer or other long-term complications caused by UV exposure. All UV rays are filtered to protect your skin. 

How to use INIA MOOD?

Step 1: Gentle wet shaving, before hair removal.

Step 2: Wear protective goggles.

Step 3: Turn on the device and select the appropriate level.

Step 4: Apply skincare after use and pay attention to sun protection.

Do I need to shave before using the INIA MOOD?

Shaving is a must. Shaving off the hair on the surface of the skin before using the hair removal device can allow the pulsed light to act more effectively on the hair follicles. Observe for 12 hours after shaving, and use the hair removal device after confirming no symptoms of redness or itching.

*Note: Dry shaving is prohibited! Because the razor is sharp, shaving should be done while bathing, or in conjunction with foam or shower gel. After shaving, rinse clean and dry the skin, and then use the hair removal device in a dry environment.

How often do I need to use it?

We recommend using the handset three times a week for the first month to achieve the best results. After that, you can use it once every two weeks or once a month for touch-ups as needed.

Additionally, we suggest making adjustments based on your hair growth. If you notice thicker hair or stubborn areas, you can increase the gear level and frequency of usage. However, it's important to monitor your skin's reaction and adjust accordingly to avoid any discomfort or adverse effects.

Who/which areas should not use the device?

The following individuals or areas are not advised to use it:

1. Those who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

2. Areas with skin diseases such as folliculitis, closed hair follicles, photosensitivity, etc.

3. Areas with uneven skin color, such as scars, tattoos, acne marks, birthmarks, moles, pigmentation, stretch marks, etc.

4. Areas for hair removal with any abnormal conditions such as infection, eczema, burns, inflammation, abrasions, sunburn, swelling, wounds or lesions, varicose veins, dilated blood vessels, etc.

Why should the light exit be tightly pressed against the skin during use?

The hair removal effect is related to the energy level. Pressing the light exit tightly against the skin allows the hair follicles to be closer to the high-energy light source area, making the hair removal effect better.

Is the hair removal device waterproof?

It is completely not waterproof and is forbidden to be used during bathing or showering.

What care work needs to be done after hair removal?

Avoid contact with water for 6 hours. If the skin feels hot and dry, you can appropriately apply moisturizing products for relief. Avoid sun exposure and do a good job of sun protection within 24 hours.
